🚨 Anti-Raid
A raid is a flood of accounts joining at once, usually brand new ones, to spam or disrupt. AutoMod can't see it coming: it only checks messages. Anti-Raid watches who joins, contains the raid, removes the raiders and ends cleanly.
Set it up
Security → Anti-Raid in your server's settings (only the owner can change it). Turn on Anti-Raid protection; observe mode scores and alerts without acting on anyone.
Join bursts. How many members joining how fast count as a raid (for example, 10 within 10 seconds). That starts raid mode for as long as you choose (5 minutes to 24 hours).
Join scoring (Premium). Every joiner gets 0-100 points: how new the account is, a default avatar, suspicious words in its name, how fast people are joining, and how much recent joiners look alike (the same name pattern, accounts made minutes apart). When the joins of the last minute add up to too many points, raid mode starts, and only joiners with enough points count as raiders: real people joining at the same time aren't touched. Accounts older than the trusted age (6 months by default) always score 0. Relaxed / Balanced / Strict presets set the numbers; Custom lets you set them. The simulator shows what a given join would score.
Raid mode
- Pause invites: Discord's own "Pause invites", so nobody new can join until raid mode ends.
- Lock channels for @everyone (up to 3; 25 on Premium): no messages or reactions until it ends.
- Pause DMs between members and raise the verification level to High (Premium).
- Raiders: alert only, time out (12 hours), kick, ban (deletes their last hour of messages), or quarantine through Jail (Premium). Joiners below the raider score: nothing, or a timeout.
- The members whose joins started it are acted on too; with Premium's sweep, raiders who joined up to 30 minutes before as well.
Everything raid mode changes is recorded first and put back exactly when it ends, even if Vaqun restarted in between. A raid never acts on more than a quarter of the server (at least 500): past that Vaqun stops and alerts you.
Minimum account age. Accounts younger than this many days are kicked (with a DM saying why) or timed out until old enough. 0 turns it off.
After a raid
Vaqun posts a report (to the alert channel and the security log channel, and by DM to you): how long it lasted, how many members it acted on and how, with the full list as a file. If real members were caught, undo it: /antiraid undo or the dashboard's raid history unbans them, ends their timeouts and releases them from quarantine. Kicked members have to rejoin by themselves.
Commands
/antiraid(.raid): the settings and whether raid mode is on. Needs Manage Server./antiraid start [minutes](.raid on): raid mode right now, even with the automatic rules off. Needs Manage Server: locking the doors is never a risk./antiraid end(.raid off): ends raid mode early and puts everything back. Owner only (and trusted owners): a hijacked admin mustn't be able to open the doors mid-attack./antiraid undo [raid]: undoes a raid's punishments. Owner only.
Good to know
- Vaqun needs Kick / Ban / Timeout Members for those actions, Manage Server to pause invites and DMs and change verification, Manage Roles to lock channels. Whatever it's missing, it skips.
- Never acted on: the owner, Vaqun, bots, members with a role above Vaqun's, and the users and roles you whitelist.
- Start with observe mode or Just alert to see how often it triggers on your server.
- A big event (a giveaway, a stream link) can bring real people in fast. Raise the numbers before one, or end raid mode if it triggers.
- Settings from before this version keep working exactly as they did.
